Our volunteers have been the heart of EAA accomplishments since the beginning. Every event, program, service—even day-to-day operations—involves a volunteer. We couldn’t do what we do without them. More than 4,800 people volunteered their time at AirVenture 2008, including those who helped at KidVenture, Women Soar, Operation Thirst, admissions, flight line operations, and maintenance. The EAA AirVenture Museum wouldn’t have been the same without our 120 docents sharing their unique backgrounds with visitors, and guiding them through aviation’s history. Pioneer Airport brought the “Golden Age” of aviation to life with the help of 100 volunteers this year.

OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS

In addition to donors and volunteers, our business partners also play an important role in the financial health of EAA. Sponsors, exhibitors, and advertisers committed more than $7 million in 2008, an investment that helped fund and support educational programs, advocacy efforts, AirVenture enhancements, and more. The support from our business partners also allows EAA to keep its dues low and AirVenture admissions reasonable.
